meet your therapist:
stephanie mata, lmft associate
Hey, I’m Stephanie.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under supervision of Brianne Blevins, LMFT-S, LPC-S, PMH-C.
In my therapy practice, I focus on helping individuals cultivate healthier relationships—both with themselves and others. This includes romantic partnerships, parenting, work and peer connections, family dynamics (such as relationships with parents, siblings, or in-laws), and friendships.
I'm deeply passionate about this work because I understand first hand how challenging relationships can affect every aspect of daily life. My goal is to guide clients toward building stronger, more fulfilling connections that enrich their lives.
Together, we will work toward creating a stronger, more connected partnership.
My specialty is couples therapy, with a focus on helping high-conflict couples navigate their challenges. With extensive training and hands-on experience, I understand how overwhelming and exhausting a strained relationship can feel by the time you seek therapy. I take a blended approach, combining therapy and coaching techniques, to help couples break free from destructive cycles and develop healthier, more effective ways of communicating.
MY APPROACH
My style is warm and compassionate, yet direct and straightforward.
I believe in fostering growth by challenging you in a supportive way and holding you accountable to your goals. I deeply value our time together and am committed to ensuring you get the most out of it.
Growth and self-awareness take time, and I’m here to guide you in recognizing patterns and gaining meaningful insights. I’ll help you identify blind spots—those unhelpful behaviors and thought patterns you might not yet see—and explain how they may be affecting you and your relationships. This approach has proven especially beneficial for couples, as it creates clarity and opens the door to healthier communication and deeper connection.

Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or stress, or striving to improve communication and deepen bonds, my goal is to empower you to cultivate healthier relationships and lead a more balanced, fulfilling life.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help you process and heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing memories. Clients often report a sense of relief, clarity, and emotional freedom after EMDR sessions.
